Travel restrictions
many Mexican states may be liable for between MXN 2,000,000 to MXN 4,000,000 pesos in liability per person, per occurrence.
• If you desire additional liability insurance protection to better protect you against the liability exposure for a particular State, Dollar offers the following protection:
• Supplemental Liability Excess (SLE): SLE increases the basic PLI coverage to MXN 4,000,000 pesos. The price for SLE is US $16.99 per day or less.
• Personal Accident Insurance (PAI): PAI reimburses medical expenses for the driver and passengers of the rental car up to MXN 200,000 pesos. The cost of PAI is $4.99 per day.
• Credit Card Deposit Requirements: Depending on the type of insurance purchased, Dollar requires the following credit card authorization hold amounts in addition to the estimated cost of the rental. Amounts subject to these authorization holds will not be available for your use while the hold is in place:

Always drive safe, buckle up, and never drink and drive.
Vehicles are only allowed to be driven in México. An exception will be granted for driving into the United States only at crossing points Tijuana, Mexicali and Monterrey and the customer will be required to purchase additional U.S. liability insurance at a cost of US$8.00 per day surcharge in addition to the PLI.
Emergency Roadside Assistance (ERA) is an optional benefit that is automatically added to all contracts at a surcharge of US $1.99 per day. ERA covers delivery of keys in case of a lockout, tire changes, jump starts, and emergency fuel service (maximum 5 liters of fuel) in the case of an empty gas tank. ERA services are only provided within 120 km of the rental location. If the renter wishes to decline ERA coverage, he must do so at the rental counter at the time of rental pickup. If ERA is declined, the renter shall be responsible for any charges incurred in connection with the services listed above.
Emergency Travel Service (ETS) coverage is an optional benefit that is automatically added to all International renter contracts at a surcharge of US $2.49 per day. ETS covers emergency medical evacuation and repatriation, including return of dependent children and traveling companion, where necessary due to serious injury or illness to a covered renter. If the renter wishes to decline this coverage, he must do so at the rental counter at the time of rental pickup. If ETS is declined, the renter shall be responsible for any charges incurred in connection with the services listed above.
CREDIT CARD REQUIREMENTS:A major credit/debit card in the renter's own name must be presented at the time of pick-up.
DEBIT CARD REQUIREMENTS: For International renters intending to pay with a debit or check card, only debit or check cards with the Master Card or Visa logo will be accepted. If a debit or check card is used, Thrifty requires the purchase of LDW, SDW, SLE, and pre-paid fuel.In addition, we will require debit or check card approval for the estimated total plus an additional deposit of US $500. Once the vehicle is returned, the US $500 deposit (if applicable) will be refunded, although it may take up to 30 business days for your account to reflect the refund. Verification of the rental return date and departure date on the renter’s flight itinerary will also be required.
• PAYMENT IN CASH: Cash is accepted upon return ONLY in local currency (Mexican Pesos).
CURRENCY CONVERSION: For your convenience, the estimated cost of your rental may be provided in US dollars during the reservation process. At the time of rental, however, the local rental car counter in Mexico will assess the actual charge for the rental in Mexican pesos based on the currency conversion rate published the previous day by the Bank
