We will be travelling to Chiang Rai together (mother and son). My son lives in Thailand. The driver will be my son but the credit card belongs to me. Is this a problem or is this OK?

Make the booking online and insert the credit card holder as the main driver, add yourself as an additional driver at STEP3 of the booking process under EXTRAS.
If there is a charge for an additional driver it will be displayed here.
You pay for the additional driver at arrival at the desk.
Sometimes there are FREE additional driver offers, represented by an icon next to the car photos at STEP2.

I am is holidaying from England and does not have her driving licence with her.My son lives in Thailand and has a Thai driving licence. Is this an issue?
Support said:
Yes, Thai licence is ok.

So if we are booking with my credit card and we put her as the main driver (she does not have her driving licence with her but she will not be driving anyway), and my son as a second driver, will this be ok?
Support said:
Yes exactly

So in order to change the main driver to me and put my son as a second driver, can I edit the booking or do I need to cancel the booking and book it again?
Support said:
Let me look at the booking. It's easier to cancel that reservation and make a new one... there will be no charge for doing so. There may be a charge for an additional driver, so look out for any potential FREE ADDITIONAL DRIVER deals as you make the new booking.

Yes please and presumably you will send an e mail confirmation for cancelling that? Thank you.

I'll do it now, and yes you will receive a confirmation email.
