Travel restrictions
PORTUGAL MAINLAND: Cross Border policy - Rental car may be driven into any European Economic Community Country and Switzerland but must be returned to an Alamo location in mainland Portugal. Rental vehicles cannot be driven into any Eastern European or African countries with the exception of Slovenia and Slovakia, as well as others specified in the International Motor Insurance Card. The rental vehicle is also prohibited from ferry travel to the islands of Madeira and Azores from the Portuguese mainland as this is not covered by insurance.
CROSS BORDER FEE (GREEN CARD):
The cost of this product is EUR 60.00 per rental plus VAT. If renter's drive the rental vehicle cross border without prior authorization and without payment of this supplement they will be penalised EUR 3.00 per km effective from the beginning of the rental and will be responsible for any damage occurred to the rental vehicle.
MADEIRA ISLAND - Cross Border policy - Rental vehicles can only be driven on the island of Madeira.
